This policy describes how Holt Lake Fishing Lodge Inc. (referred to as “we”, “our”, or “the Outfitter”) collects, uses, protects, and shares the personal information you provide via lacholt.com, in compliance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's PIPEDA.

2. Information we collect
When you submit a reservation or contact form on our site, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (optional)
- The preferred dates and number of guests
- Any message you send us
- Your consents (contact, SMS, marketing)
We do not collect any sensitive information (health, finances, etc.) through this site.
3. Why we use your information
- Respond to your inquiry or reservation request
- Contact you by email, phone, or SMS (with your consent)
- Send you marketing communications (newsletters, promotions) with your consent
- Improve our site and services
4. SMS consent
If you provide a phone number, we ask for explicit consent to send you text messages. Frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP.
5. Marketing communications
Consent to marketing communications is optional and separate from SMS consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in each email or by contacting us.
6. Retention period
Your information is retained as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry, for a maximum of 36 months after your last interaction. You can request deletion at any time (see section 9).
7. Sharing with third parties
We never sell your information. We share it only with service providers strictly required to operate the site:
- Formspree (United States) — form submission processing
- Vercel (United States) — site hosting
- Transactional email provider — reservation notifications
These third parties are contractually bound to confidentiality and security standards consistent with Quebec requirements. Some host data in the United States; by using our forms you consent to this international transfer.
8. Cookies
Our site uses cookies:
- Essential cookies — required to operate (storing your privacy preferences). Always active.
- Analytics cookies — anonymous statistics to improve the site. Active only with your consent.
- Marketing cookies — measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Active only with your consent.

9. Your rights
Under Law 25, you have the following rights:
- Access: obtain a copy of the information we hold about you
- Rectification: correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: request erasure of your information

- File a complaint: with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec

10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information: TLS encryption, restricted access, secure backups. As no Internet transmission is perfectly secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be communicated to you.
